Activities

At KidsKare, children of varying ages enjoy activities suitable to their age.

  1. Active indoor and outdoor play for all children
  2. Table toys, blocks, crayons, etc.
  3. Group story time
  4. Sing-along songs

Weather permitting, our kids enjoy outdoor activities in a large fenced backyard that includes a slide, tunnel, balls, etc.

Holidays

KidsKare is closed on major National Holidays. A list of holidays are published on an annual basis and provided to parents in January. We will also list these days on our online calendar for your convenience.

Naps and Rest Times

If your child sleeps with a blanket or a favorite soft toy, they are welcome to bring them along. Children will not be put to bed with a bottle. If the child is tired he/she will not be kept awake for parent’s convenience.

Infants will nap 2 – 3 times a day (and sometimes more) on their own schedules, which will change as they grow. Toddlers may take 1 – 2 naps each day. Like infants, their sleep demands will change over time and may even increase and decrease at different times. It’s helpful to learn the sleep schedule for each infant and then plan active and messy activities that most need my supervision when the infants are sleeping.

Enrollment & Payments

Three or more days are considered a full week and will be charged the weekly rate. All fees are due on Friday for the following week or no later than Monday (of the current week). If you are aware that your child will be absent on Friday, please make sure your payment is made on Thursday or no later than Monday of the current week. Checks are accepted. There will be a $25.00 fee charge on any returned checks from the bank. Parents will also be responsible for all fees related to returned checks that the provider incurs. Please do not ask me to hold checks.

Attendance

Please let me know if your child will not be in attendance for the day or if he/she will be arriving late or leaving early.

Parent Responsibilities

I must get certain information and records from parents to ensure the child’s health Child Pickup and safety. Please make sure I keep a current copy of your child’s immunization record on file. Please complete an enrollment form that includes basic information about your child; telephone numbers where you can be reached during the day and authorization for emergency care for your child. Inform me about any special concerns or needs, including allergies, medical history and current medications.

Child Pickup

Please note that your child will only be released to persons other than parents with prearrangements made between parent and me. Inform me in writing about who is permitted to take your child from the in-home care. Identification MUST be shown before I release a child to an adult other than the parent.

Termination Procedure

The first thirty (30) days of care are probationary for parent, child and provider. We will use this time to become more familiar and comfortable with one another; to feel things out. If things do not work out, this agreement may be terminated at any time during this period by either party. Otherwise, either parent or I must give written notice three weeks for one child or four weeks for two children in care in advance of ending date. I will cancel the agreement without notice under certain circumstances; if the parent does not make payment when due, if child requires more care or attention than I’m able to give, or if I do not receive proper cooperation from the parents concerning the child’s needs.
